In a sprint down-to-wire DC, we have seen success on a nuclear treaty and the repeal of “Do not Ask, Do not Tell”. It was a year of historic legislation, reform of health care financial regulation. And Jon Stewart not only rallied to restore mental health, but more effectively rallied conservatives to shame by passing the bill for Zadroga 9 / 11 responders.

The Liberals can encourage these achievements. Now, if you’re looking for the wellness end of year piece, stop reading here.

For all the successes, 2010 was a year in total gross for those on the left side of American politics. If we go down the mat and go fresh in 2011, we’ll just spend a catharsis “Top 10” list spits the rest of 2010. Here are 10 lowlights of last year – all the reasons that I’ll be roasting it finally did. (PLEASE – add your own comments in the thread this is not the “top 10” -. These are just “my 10” -. I know there are many others)

1. The Rise of Tea Party. Beginning with the January victory Scott Brown in the race to fill the seat of Ted Kennedy, this year has been marked by growth irresistible, irresistible and reckless The Tea Party. In some places – Florida, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania – The Tea Party Express plowed ahead. Elsewhere – Delaware, Nevada, Alaska – it was a Tea Party Trainwreck. In all cases, we could not stop watching … literally. Wall to wall coverage of the media has left a bitter taste for tea in my mouth and I was pleased I am a coffee drinker.
