A massive collection of John F. Kennedy’s memorabilia, including his bomber jacket, private family photos, portraits of Camelot members, handwritten letters and other rare items are going up for auction to honor the 50th anniversary of JFK’s assassination.
The items belonged to David F. Powers, JFK’s White House special assistant and longtime confidant.
Powers was the first curator of the JFK Library in Boston. He died in 1998 at 85.
His family discovered the items hidden away as they prepared to sell the family home in Massachusetts.
