Stuart Quits

Stuart Quits, RICKY Stuart is expected to be unveiled as Canberra coach as early as today after quitting Parramatta late last night in a move that plunged the already-stricken Eels further into crisis.
Stuart’s manager, John Fordham, issued a statement confirming his client had told Eels chairman Steve Sharp of his decision, ending his tenure after only one year in charge.
Fordham also confirmed the Raiders board had indicated it was ready to weigh in with a three-year deal to bring Stuart back to the club where he made his name.
Stuart’s resignation ended days of speculation over his future and shapes as the first move in a sequence that could yet culminate in North Queensland coach Neil Henry being handed the reins at Parramatta.
Although he was in only the first year of his deal with the Eels, Stuart’s contract included a get-out clause, which he installed because he was wary of Parramatta’s volatile situation at board level.
