Steve Harvey Child Abuse, Steve Harvey can now rest easy. The 56-year-old actor and comedian has been cleared of child abuse charges, TMZ reports. The daytime talk show host’s second ex-wife, Mary Lee Shackelford, previously claimed that Harvey abused their 16-year-old son, Wynton.
According to the site, Harvey’s lawyer wrote a letter for Mary to sign, which acknowledged that she made up the allegation that the star hurt their son with a belt and paddle.
“I have to deal with that [the lie] and answer to God for my behavior,” the letter said. “I know that you love our son and would do anything legal to protect him. You are a loving father.”
