Roman Numerals, Google wanted its users a happy new year with a new Google Doodle morning Friday, a fireworks-studded logo with a part of company name replaced by the Roman numerals MMXI, or 2011.

Searches for “MMXI”, “google gmmxle” and “Roman numerals” all tend to warm this morning as people looked for more info on the logo. “MMXI” was also a trend on Twitter this morning.

Another search at the top this morning was “Auld Lang Syne song,”

Happy (Almost) New Year, Googlers! To celebrate the dawn of 2011, Google came out with a new Doodle, a few festive little (pun intended) of fireworks and Roman numerals signifying “2011”.

This is not the first festival of the Doodle honored – Google has celebrated Halloween with sweet treats, Thanksgiving with gluttony, and holidays with an array of collective cultural scene.
