Richie Sambora Issues, Jon Bon Jovi told the crowd, “I had two choices – pack up and go home or give you everything I got.”
The Bon Jovi show will go on– but without his guitarist Richie Sambora.
On Tuesday, the “Shot Through the Heart” singer took the stage at a Calgary show in Canada missing one familiar face by his side.
Richie Sambora has left the tour for “personal reasons.”
“Due to personal issues, Richie Sambora will not be performing on this upcoming leg. All shows will go on as scheduled,” the band said in a statement on their website late Tuesday.
According to the Daily Mail, Bon Jovi told the crowd that night, “I had two choices – pack up and go home or give you everything I got …. Richie Sambora won’t be performing for a while. If there’s ever a night I need you, it’s tonight, Calgary!”
Hours before the announcement Sambora took to Twitter writing, “Watching more of the Every Road Leads Home To You” cover videos, which was a reference to a fan contest promoting that song from his solo album, ‘Aftermath of the Lowdown.’
This is not the first time Sambora has taken a musical pause, the guitarist has previously been to rehab for a painkiller killer addiction and was arrested for driving under the influence.
The tour is scheduled to end April 25 in San Jose, Calif. and the time that Sambora will be off is unknown.
