Rafael Nadal Slicing Injury, In a sign that history’s greatest invention may not have made its way to the clay courts of Mallorca, Rafael Nadal cut himself while slicing bread, according to Spanish media reports.
Mundo Deportivo reported Nadal was cutting bread for breakfast when he sliced his a finger on his left hand. The world No. 1 wasn’t seriously injured and practiced later in the day with a bandage.
Nadal is in London for the year-end ATP World Tour Finals. He’s already qualified for Sunday’s semifinals, but faces Tomas Berdych in a round-robin match on Friday afternoon.
Nadal, one of the most famous lefties in tennis history, is right-handed in everyday life. Mundo Deportivo says he was holding the bread in his left hand and cutting with his right, hence the cut on the dominant tennis hand.
