Oprah Chimp Victim

November 12, 2009 by

interYesterday Charla Nash, the victim viciously mauled by a chimp in February, appeared on Oprah. She decided to do the interview so she could reveal her face on her own terms. By appearing on Oprah, Charla Nash could reveal her face with respect and dignity. Otherwise she knew that a tabloid magazine would try to sell her photos for thousands of dollars.

Her story is probably one of the most astounding interviews I’ve witnessed. It’s an absolute miracle that she lived and more so that she can speak. Doctors had to reconstruct her tongue; her face was torn apart by the chimpanzee.

Her bravery and positive attitude despite everything she’s gone through is inspirational. All of us need to try harder to get through obstacles in our lives. If she can get through this, then we can get through our tough times (that don’t compare to hers) as well.
