Edward J. Ide Jr. was named recipient of the 2004 Community Leadership Award during Leadership Cayuga graduation ceremonies Wednesday. The award is given annually to recognize a graduate of the Leadership Cayuga program who has exhibited leadership qualities.

Ide is a 1997 graduate of the program, and was elected supervisor of Aurelius in 1999, and re-elected in 2001 and 2003.

Ide said his experience in Leadership Cayuga “led to a breakthrough paradigm” in recognizing his own strengths and weaknesses.

“Three of the organizations I have been involved in were in or about to be in periods of crisis,” said Ide. “I firmly believe that my Leadership Cayuga experience prepared me to provide meaningful input into the return of stability of all three of those groups.”
