Megyn Kelly On Loss

June 5, 2014 by

Megyn Kelly On Loss, Annette Bosworth, a Republican Senate candidate in South Dakota, got some bad news live on air Tuesday night from Fox News’ Megyn Kelly: She lost her primary race to former Gov. Mike Rounds.

“I want to start with the breaking news from The Associated Press that reports you have lost your race, and that former South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds has prevailed in the GOP primary — your thoughts on that,” Kelly said, kicking off the interview.

“Well, that’s news to me. I didn’t know that,” Bosworth said, later adding “I found out on national television.”

“Sorry to break the news to you,” Kelly said.

Last week Bosworth held an emotional press conference in which she vehemently criticized those who had attacked her in online comments sections.

Standing before a wall covered with profane words written in graffiti, Bosworth condemned the “hateful” and “hurtful” abuse she said she has suffered as a candidate. She also criticized the media and “supposedly tolerant liberals” for tolerating such attacks.

On Wednesday, Bosworth turned herself in to police following the issuance of a warrant for perjury, according to the Argus Leader. Bosworth has been accused of signing her name as the circulator under petitions that were signed by South Dakota voters while she was out of the country.
