Julianna Pena Ronda Rousey

December 3, 2013 by

Julianna Pena Ronda Rousey, The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 winner, Julianna Pena, has some choice words for UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Ronda Rousey.

Julianna Pena made history last night (Nov. 30, 2013) at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 Finale when she defeated Jessica Rakoczy to become the first women’s Ultimate Fighter.

Her time on TUF saw some ups and downs as she was Miesha Tate’s first female pick and scored an upset over season favorite, Shayna Baszler, in the quarter-finals. Because of her close relationship with Tate outside of the show, Pena quickly became hated in the house because she was receiving extra attention in practice.

Following the conclusion of the Finale, Pena spoke with Ariel Helwani and Jon Anik about her experience on the show and more specifically, her comments about Ronda Rousey in the press. Pena recently made headlines by calling Rousey “pretentious” and a “rich brat.”

Pena was given the opportunity to take back her statements, but she decided to further explain why she doesn’t hold Rousey in high regard.

“Whether Ronda has one penny or $10 million, the point I was trying to make there is she has her nose in the air and she acts like she’s better than everyone else,” Pena said. “She went on the show being like, ‘I’m Team Real Mean versus Fake Nice.’ Well if she was so real, why didn’t she tell me that I didn’t deserve to breathe the same air as Shayna Baszler? Why didn’t she tell me that to my face instead of saying it on camera behind my back?

“It’s her arrogance. It’s the way she holds herself, like her s**t don’t stink. That was the point I was trying to make. It doesn’t have anything to do with money. It’s the way that she acts.”
