Ice Fishing

Ice Fishing, Iowa -Join the fishing fun at Langwood Education Center from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26. Children will learn all about ice fishing, safety on the ice – and have the chance to catch some fish.
The cost for the event is $5 per family and includes a National Wild Turkey Federation Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship youth membership, lunch, drinks and hot cocoa.
Attendees are asked to bring a mug for hot cocoa and to wear plenty of warm clothes plus waterproof boots.
People with their own equipment are asked to bring it. This could include an ice fishing pole, tackle and a bucket or chair to sit on.
A limited number of ice fishing poles will be available to borrow on a first come, first served basis.
Pre-registration is requested by Friday, Jan. 18, which will allow youth to reserve an ice fishing pole.

The Langwood Education Center is three miles southeast of Grandview. Follow the directional signs from the intersection of Highways 61 and 92.
The events is sponsored by Louisa County Conservation and the Louisa Longbeard Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation JAKES program.
The JAKES program was started to give youth the chance to explore their outdoor world through hundreds of fun kids-only events all across North America.
