I Love Lucy Christmas Episode

I Love Lucy Christmas Episode, CBS provided a trip down memory lane on Friday (Dec. 20) by airing the “I Love Lucy Christmas Special” … in color.
That’s right, after 50 years, the classic sitcom was resurrected with new life when 1956’s “The Christmas Episode” and one of the all-time favorites, “Lucy’s Italian Movie,” were aired in full color. And while many purists were worried that the outcome would be all wrong, the end result was actually spectacular and only heightened the experience of watching it — instead of ruining the original charm of the show.
Seeing the iconic Lucille Ball with her fiery red-orange hair in all its bright glory added to her charm. The comedy was lighter, the laughs were heartier, and it all felt more real.
Plus, seeing Lucy stomp and roll around in grapes is much more entertaining when you see her covered in purple by the episode’s end. That’s not something black and white will ever be able to portray.
What did you think of the newly-colorized episodes of “I Love Lucy?” Did you like seeing the new versions of the classic episodes or do you think it should have stayed in black and white?
