google_fourOut there, on the Internet, there’s a search engine more whacked than the nefarious Mystery Google known for turning up totally bogus search results. We’re talking about the newest oddity in cyberspace that aims to capitalize on the ever-present Google: That’s no typo. And the bonus is this version of Google, which isn’t Google, turns up the correct search results.

That is if you’re willing to type all those Gs and Os into your browser. It’s quite dizzying. If you do, you’ll be taken to a page with four mirrors of Google. Now you can totally geek out by conducting four searches at the same time. Ooooh… ahh…

The creators are Erty Seidel, Matt Freitag, Brendan Krull and Kegan Leizerman. You can Google the four of them on their crazy site.

Why are there four Googles? Here’s the site’s answer: “Alex and Erty were chatting on Google Talk one night, and Erty wondered if was taken. He jokingly wondered if they could set up a search service for Google itself. Unfortunately, was taken, but Alex pointed out that was available. In a impulse buy, they purchased the domain (Alex already had some hosting) and someone had the idea of putting four Googles on the page. Thus, GoogleGoogleGoogleGoogle was born.”

Where is the money coming from? That seems to be something the creators are working on. They write that they are “trying hard to make this a cool, free service” and committed to “keeping this service ad free,” but could use some donations to keep it going.
