Ferrum College In Virginia Lockdown, December 2012, Ferrum College officials have ordered a lockdown after students reported two attempted robberies on campus, 1 of them possibly involving a gun. The private college in southwest Virginia issued an alert at 10:22 p.m. Thursday after the first attempted robbery was reported near Riddick Hall. Less than an hour later, another robbery was called in on campus and a lockdown was ordered.

Campus police said Friday no injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made. The lockdown remains in place. A college spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a message.

It marks the second time in three years the college was placed on lockdown. In December 2010, a student reported a possible gunshot on campus, but police searched all buildings and found no evidence of a threat.
