July 29, 2013 by

FBI Sex-Trafficking Raids, July 2013, In the largest U.S. action to date focused on recovering sexually exploited children, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Monday said more than 100 teenagers involved in sex trafficking and exploitation were rescued over the weekend.

They were rescued in coordinated raids encompassing more than 70 cities that resulted in the arrest of 150 people.

The rescued children ranged in age from 13 to 17, the FBI said.

Those arrested preyed mostly on troubled children, including children from broken homes, authorities said. In some cases, they used a popular online classified site to sell the children for sex, authorities said.
Criminal charges against the 150 will include human trafficking, the FBI said.
