Dr. Eben Alexander

Dr. Eben Alexander, The craziest of near death circumstances seem to make even the most rigid non-believers believe. This is the case with Dr. Eben Alexander, a once skeptical neurosurgeon who now says Heaven is filled with beautiful women, pink and white clouds, and “advanced higher forms” that sing a “glorious chant.”

After sitting in a coma for seven days, due to an almost fatal case of Meningitis, he returned to Earth… but not before witnessing what he believes to be Heaven.

Here’s how he describes the strange occurrence:

“For seven days I lay in a deep coma, my body unresponsive, my higher-order brain functions totally offline. Then, on the morning of my seventh day in the hospital, as my doctors weighed whether to discontinue treatment, my eyes popped open. My brain-free consciousness journeyed to another, larger dimension of the universe: a dimension I’d never dreamed existed.”

He went on to explain:

“My near-death experience, however, took place not while my cortex was malfunctioning, but while it was simply off. There is absolutely no way that I could have experienced even a dim and limited consciousness during my time in the coma much less the hyper-vivid and completely coherent odyssey I underwent. As far as I know, no one before me has ever traveled to this dimension (a) while their cortex was completely shut down, and (b) while their body was under minute medical observation, as mine was for the full seven days of my coma.”

Dr. Alexander explains that in this dimension we are “much more than our brains and bodies” and that while there, he saw a beautiful woman that had very blue eyes and golden brown hair, floating on the wings of butterflies, and she ensured him:

“You are loved and cherished, dearly, forever you have nothing to fear.”

Once a skeptic and a cynic who explained every single occurrence through scientific observation, Dr. Alexander claims his eyes have since been opened and he plans to continue exploring this other dimension.

Thank you for sharing your story. I read everything on the subject whenever I can. My daughter was in a coma for 20 hours and only came out of it for a few hours before we took her off life support. I know she is in a better place and happy again.
The decision to take her off life support has always haunted me and now I know I did the right thing. She was anorexic and died at the age of 34 weighing only 60 pounds. All of her organs were shutting down and she has been on dyalsis for 3 years.

Thank you again for your story and I will get your book. God Bless. Margie
