Desert Cardinal (Cardinalis Sinuatus), Size: 8″ Habitat: Desert and urban areas, valley thickets, open foothill canyon groves with underbrush. Forages: for seeds, fruits, and insects. Voice: Tiny tchik note. Tiny tuwheet tuwee tuwheet tuwheet, chew-y chew-y chew-y, chew-chow! chow! chow! “Eating a sunflower seed”.
