Corpse In Doll Box

Corpse In Doll Box, Chinese police have arrested a woman in connection with the case of a Japanese nurse whose corpse was sent to a storage lock-up outside Tokyo in a six-foot box labeled “doll.”

Public broadcaster NHK reported on Tuesday that a Japanese-Brazilian woman who illegally used the dead woman’s passport to travel to Shanghai had been detained in China for suspicion of staying illegally in the country.

The body of Rika Okada, 29, had multiple stab wounds when it was found inside the box on May 21, according to Mainichi Shinbum newspaper.

A shipping company sent the box from Okada’s apartment in the western city of Osaka to a property belonging to a childhood classmate of the victim, a 29-year-old Brazilian-Japanese woman who lived near the short-term rental storage facility where the corpse was found, according to the newspaper.

Okada’s own credit card was used to pay for the shipping and storage, according to the local reports.

The former classmate of Okada used the victim’s passport to travel from Tokyo’s Haneda airport to Shanghai earlier this month, according to Mainichi Shinbum. Police said she traveled to Shanghai with a Chinese woman, the newspaper reported.

Okada was last seen at work on March 21 and the delivery was made on March 24, according to multiple media reports. She posted on Facebook that she was meeting an old friend before she went missing, local reports said.
