Clifton Suspension Bridge

Clifton Suspension Bridge, US comedian Joan Rivers found herself stuck on the Clifton Suspension Bridge yesterday. The 79-year-old was set to use the bridge for her journey to Colston Hall ahead of her sell-out show last night But the bus she was travelling in was apparently too big to cross the 150-year-old structure according to the star’s Twitter feed.

During the late afternoon she tweeted a picture and the words: “Just tried to cross the suspension bridge but unfortunately our big yellow bus is just too big. I offered to get off…”

Miss Rivers is known for her brash manner; her loud, raspy voice with a heavy New York accent; and her numerous cosmetic surgeries.

Her comic style relies heavily on her ability to poke fun at herself and other Hollywood celebrities.

Yesterday, while in Bristol, she also tweeted about how she was spending her time in the city.

She said: “Anyone know where to find a Pound Store in Bristol? Seriously…I need to shop!”

And when her shopping plans were thwarted she found herself searching for a Pieminster Pie. She said: “Just arrived in Bristol and the shops are closed. Where can I get my @pieminister pie? I can’t take the stage without one!”
