Chris Brown Legal Troubles

October 30, 2013 by

Chris Brown Legal Troubles, Chris Brown has been released on his assault charges, ABC News reports. The singer pleaded not guilty on felony assault, of which he was accused after punching a man in Washington DC over the weekend. Somehow this just keeps happening to Brown. The news today is that Brown’s charges were reduced from felony to misdemeanor, although he still isn’t completely off the hook.

Not that he’s letting that put a damper on his spirits, as Brown left the courthouse flashing peace signs at the small crowd of supporters gathered outside, according to Reuters. This despite the fact that he faces a maximum of six months in jail and a $1000 fine, if convicted. Another man, Christopher Hollosy, described as Brown’s bodyguard, has also been accused. A preliminary hearing has been set for November 25.

The altercation, the latest in a series of questionable behaviour by Brown, reportedly started when he was asked by two women to take a picture with them outside the W Hotel in Washington. At one point, a young man, Parker Adams, attempted to join in, but Brown’s reaction was less than subtle. After declaring: “I’m not into that gay shit,” Brown continued. “I feel like boxing.” At that point, Brown punched Adams, according to the report. Hollosy also punched the 20-year-old man and then pulled Brown onto his tour bus. Adams’ injuries were relatively mild – “bruising and swelling around the nose” – which may have helped in reducing the charges against Brown.
