Bullring, Birmingham, A woman has died after falling from an upper level inside a busy city shopping centre. West Midlands police said the unnamed woman, believed to be in her 40s, fell from an elevated area inside Birmingham’s Bullring at around 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The East Mall was closed while police established the circumstances of what happened, but later reopened.

A force spokeswoman said: “Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the woman’s death and are not treating it as suspicious. The matter has now been referred to the coroner.”

West Midlands ambulance service (WMAS) said an ambulance, two rapid response motorcycle paramedics, and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

An off-duty doctor and a CFR (community first responder) were already at the scene treating the woman.

A WMAS spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a woman who was in traumatic cardiac arrest after falling from an upper level of the Bullring.
