Are The Banks Open On Veterans Day 2013

Are The Banks Open On Veterans Day 2013, Are banks open or closed on Veterans Day? If you have banking to do on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, you may find your bank closed on the federal holiday.

Most banks will be closed on Monday, including Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Citizens Bank.

There is an exception to the rule in Rhode Island: TD Bank is open on Veterans Day and several other federal holidays throughout the year.

If your bank is closed on Monday, you can still bank online to transfer funds, pay bills or check your balance. Bank ATMs are available for cash, just make sure you use your own bank’s network to avoid paying a fee.

What about bank branches located inside retail stores? Grocery stores, Walmart and other retailers that have bank and credit union branches inside their store are open, but the bank branch will probably be closed.

See a list of all 2013 Federal holidays here.

There are some supermarket branches of Citizens Bank, that have opened in the past on federal holidays, but it’s always best to call ahead before you make a trip to the store.

Veterans Day is always observed on Nov. 11, but when a holiday falls on a non-workday (Saturday or Sunday), the holiday is usually observed on Monday (if the holiday falls on Sunday) or Friday (if the holiday falls on Saturday).
