Anne Hathaway Brother

Anne Hathaway Brother, Anne Hathaway’s drastic transformation to play malnourished, disease-ridden prostitute Fantine in upcoming epic “Les Miserables” came with a few tough physical requirements – but shaving off her brown locks wasn’t actually that big a deal, she revealed to reporters recently.

“When I eventually looked in the mirror I just thought I looked like my gay brother,” Hathaway told reporters of her buzz cut at a New York City screening of the film Friday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 30-year-old actress, who received acclaim for her turn as an emotional lead in 2008’s “Rachel Getting Married,” was also forced to shed 25 pounds off her already-thin frame to play the part.

“I had to be obsessive about it – the idea was to look near death,” she told the December issue of Vogue. “Looking back on the whole experience – and I don’t judge it in any way – it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that’s who Fantine is anyway.”

In order to lose the last bit of weight for the role, Hathaway admits that she had to rely on two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste per day for two weeks as sustenance, a practice that left her “in a state of deprivation, physical and emotional.”
