Adrien Broner Next Fight

December 16, 2013 by

Adrien Broner Next Fight, “The Problem” needs a new solution.

Shortly after his one-sided loss to Marcos Maidana on Saturday, Dec. 14, Adrien Broner has already gone on record demanding another chance.

“I’ll tell you one thing, make a rematch. I don’t need a warm-up fight. I want a rematch,” Broner said, per the Associated Press’ Raul Dominguez (via ABC News).

You can’t be too surprised that he would want to fight Maidana again already. His pride took a major hit in the Alamodome. Along with everyone else, ESPN’s Robert Flores thought the Broner and Floyd Mayweather comparisons can end now.

I think we can now stop with the Broner/Mayweather comparisons. #BronerMaidana #boxing

The fact that Broner was beaten was surprising enough, but few could’ve foreseen the way in which he’d lose. The judges scored it 115-110, 116-109 and 117-109.

Maidana was able to assert his dominance in the ring early and pummeled Broner for much of the fight, putting him on the canvas twice.

It was the kind of result that makes you wonder why a rematch would even be necessary.

From Maidana’s perspective, you’ve already thoroughly beaten Broner. What is there to be gained by doing it again? You’re risking a loss in the second fight that erases everything good that happened in the first.
