Zach Mettenberger, The usually explosive offense senior Grizzlies Butler was absent at the worst possible time, falling 13-12 at Navarro College in NJCAA national title game.

The game was a defense effort the entire game as neither team scored until the second half.

Navarro (11-1) scored first when Depauldrick Garrett scored from short yardage to give the Bulldogs a lead of 7-0 in the third quarter.
Zach AdvertisementButler Mettenberg connected on a touchdown pass to Connor Combes to nearly tie things up, but they went for the two-point conversion and missed, falling behind 7-6.

The Grizzlies have struggled in the kicking game from play Coffeyville in November and went to two since.

Navarro took another with little advance they kicked a field to lead 10-6 before Mettenberg found Craig Rosenstengle to develop their second touchdown and a two-point lead, 12-10. Grizzlies go for twice and missed, which proved costly.

Navarro held the ball for most of the fourth quarter and kicked a field to take the lead 13-12 with just over a minute left in the game.

The first game of their last disc lowered Mettenberg receiver and was intercepted off the ice the game. Butler ends its season at 11-1, like Navarro.
