Yellowstone & Grizzly Attack, A hiker has died in a terror attack by a grizzly bear. The man was maimed to death by the beast of women in U.S. popular tourist hotspot Yellowstone National Park yesterday.
It’s death for the first time take in the famous and extensive nature reserve since 1986. But the Bears have claimed three lives in the Yellowstone area – which spans the states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho – in just over a year.
Authorities say the murderer is still at large animal in the park, while thousands of backpackers descend on the area during peak tourist period.
The man and his wife apparently surprised the bear and her cubs while walking.
Yellowstone spokesman Al Nash said the couple saw the grizzly bear hiked twice.
The first time they met they went untouched, but the second time the bear ran toward them and the 57-year-old bravely, said his wife ran.
She sought help on his mobile phone and other hikers in the area rushed to the scene after hearing her screams, but it was too late.
The woman told park officials after the bear attacked her husband came for her.
She said she fell to the ground and lifted her off the ground grizzly with his backpack before falling back down.
Surprisingly, the woman escaped with only scrapes and bruises.
Authorities said the couple did not identify until the man’s family had been notified.
Park officials were yesterday clearing the area of?? People and all the trails and campsites in the area were closed.
