September 23, 2010 by USA Post, Abbott Laboratories is recalling 5 million cans of Similac powder formula of the mark, because it may contain insect parts.

The formula in question is sold in plastic containers and cans.

The recall does not include the liquid.

The company is recalling certain formula Similac powder infant brand with lot numbers:

87932T20, 88117T26, 78208T2, 88136T20, 91433t20, 800-986-8850, 800-545-5216, 800-515-7677, 800-986-8800, 847-937-6100, (847) 935-8865, (847) 935-3456.66128 RB6, RB6 61251, 61347RB, RB 84314, 85454 T2, 86 580 T20 88137T20 and 90372T20.

The voluntary recall is conducted because the company believes its product may contain beetles.

Abbott spokeswoman Melissa Brotz said in a statement that after small insects were discovered in cans of milk produced in a manufacturing plant in Sturgis, Mich., decided to withdraw several products.

To find out immediately if the product in their possession is included in this recall, parents and caregivers should visit / memory / search and type in item number to determine if your product is affected, or call at 800-986 -8850.
