Wthr, Police investigating two robberies within hours of each other this morning on the city Northeastside.

The first occurred when a masked gunman wearing all black clothing entered the Days Inn and Suites in block 8200 of Craig Street and demanded money from the receptionist. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the gunman fled.

Later, investigators from the Department Indianapolis Metropolitan Police say a man fired a handgun at a clerk inside the pantry village 9550 Hague Road, corner of 96th Street and Hague road, according to the partners of the Star’s newsgathering, WTHR (Channel 13).

Both places are flying about two miles from each other.

The gunman fled the store about 6 hours and fired several shots at a witness who was in pursuit, striking the passenger side of the collection of the witness. The witness gave up the pursuit at that time, reports WTHR.

No injuries were immediately reported. Police are trying to determine whether the two incidents are linked.
