Woman Accused Of Groping TSA Agent, A Colorado woman accused of groping a female Transportation Security Administration agent in Phoenix is?? Getting some support from people unhappy about airport security procedures.
A Facebook page Yukari Miyamae support were more than 900 supporters Monday afternoon, with some praise for their courage and others offering to donate money for her defense. Others defended the procedures of the TSA screening, saying that people who do not want to comply with safety requirements should not fly.
Police said Miyamae, 61, is accused of touching the left breast of an unidentified agent Thursday afternoon after the TSA said she refused to go through passenger screening. She was arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse, a felony, but has not filed charges.
Maricopa County Commissioner Nelson Miles Judicial Miyamae released on her own recognizance during a court appearance Friday. A preliminary hearing in her case was scheduled for August 4.
Miyamae said Nelson could return home to Longmont, Colorado, and could use the airport to fly back to Arizona as part of her work as a translator.
“I travel from Colorado to Phoenix a week for work I’m working today,” Nelson said Miyamae.
Miyamae and TSA did not return calls from The Associated Press on Monday.
