Wisconsin vs Michigan State, Wisconsin vs Michigan State Final Score: Big Ten Championship game 2011 results “Not this time!”, cried the the Wisconsin Badgers when they were in a real battle against the Michigan State Spartans. The profundity of those words was the fact that they would not let the Spartans to defeat them.
Wisconsin Badgers pulled off a 42-39 squeaker over Michigan State through the seven yard touchdown run of running back Montee Ball with 3:45 remaining in the fourth quarter. Ball had a total of four touchdowns as he completely destroyed the Spartans set defense against him.
For the second time in as many years, the Wisconsin Badgers victory advances them to be in the Sugar Bowl to face Oregon Ducks. It was a sweet victory for the Badgers as they avenged themselves in their previous defeat from the Spartans. It was then a hard to take loss because their chance of contending for the national title game was obliterated.
The inaugural Big Ten Championship Game 2011 was a success as the conference finally didn’t end up in a ties like what happened last year when Badgers, Buckeyes, and Spartans shared the glory.
Ball’s rushing game was efficient enough to have a shootout against the Spartans. He rushed 27 times for 137 yards as he kept on pounding the ball on the ground. Ball’s performance was one of a kind the eventually led the Badgers into a win.
Quarterback Russell Wilson completed 17 of 24 passes for 187 yards as he anchored the game with such poise despite coming from behind in the fourth quarter. It was his game under pressure that paved the way for the Badgers to sustain the comeback.
