Will & Jada Smith part owners of basketball team, Will Smith has become one of the owners of the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team. Together with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, actor joined an investment group that owns a minority stake in the sports franchise, and bought the club in Comcast-Spectacor, according to CSN Philly.
Leader of the billionaire investment and Joshua Harris told a news conference: “We are honored to be part of this storied franchise We have much work to do, but we have a rich history, a solid foundation and a bright future..”
Smith – who professed the theme song to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air – “born and raised” in West Philadelphia.
Sixers player Evan Turner revealed he was thrilled to learn of Smith’s involvement with the team. The Twitter: “I think it’s the drug that the Fresh Prince is one of our new owners perhaps Willow can be done in the meantime (sic).”.
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith repeatedly denied reports that her marriage was coming to an end earlier this year.
The actor is planning a musical comeback by recording a rap album.
