Who Won The Mega Millions

Who Won The Mega Millions, This Illinois farm town buzzed today with news that one of three winning tickets for the largest lottery in history was sold at the MotoMart convenience store here.
Manager Denise Metzger said she doesn’t know who bought it but is thrilled to think it might be someone who lives in that area. Officials report one winning ticket each sold in Red Bud, in Maryland and in Kansas, to share a $640 million jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions game.
“It’s a huge deal for Red Bud,” said Metzger, 50, who lives in Belleville. “I’m sure there’s not one person in this town that couldn’t use the money.”
Red Bud, with about 3,700 people, is in Randoloph County, about 36 miles southeast of St. Louis.
Metzger said she learned about 7 a.m. that one of winners was sold at the store on Main Street. Since then, she has answered calls from major news organizations, her voice hoarse from a recent bout with bronchitis. A steady stream of customers stopped by to check their tickets. Many joked about not having won.
Metzger said the store will receive $500,000 for selling the winning ticket. She said she wasn’t sure which employee sold it.
She also wasn’t sure how many tickets had been sold there, but the number had increased dramatically since Tuesday. The store serves a fair number of customers who are just passing through, at the confluence of Illinois Routes 3, 154 and 159, so the winner may not be local.
