In addition, NFL All-Star Game also known as the Pro Bowl 2011 is being broadcast in Sports and FOX took place at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. Now we’re ready to turn our attention to the great upcoming and highly anticipated Super Bowl 2011.

The NFL and the NFL Players Association met for the first time in two months on Saturday, but after two hours of intense talks there was no indication that they are closer to a new contract work.

The two sides met in a hotel in Dallas is not disclosed on the eve of Sunday’s Super Bowl 45 between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers.

“The NFL and NFL Players Association met for two hours today in a continuing effort to narrow differences and reach an equitable agreement that will benefit players, teams and fans,” a joint statement the groups said.

“We plan to increase the number, duration and intensity of the bargaining sessions so we can reach an agreement.”

The current collective bargaining agreement expires at midnight March 3. The situation worsened in 2008 when the owners voted to exercise an opt-out at first.

With sides far apart on several issues, lockout trades if they can forge a new agreement before the deadline.

One of the stumbling blocks is that the players want the owners to hand over all their financial figures so that their lawyers and accountants to review them with a fine tooth comb.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell dismissed that idea on Friday, calling it a delaying tactic.

“It’s a negotiating ploy because the reality is they have all the information necessary to make these decisions,” said Goodell.

Another important factor in the negotiations has been the expansion of the NFL regular season 16-18 games for each club, trimming two preseason games in August compared with the schedules in favor of more games that count in the classification.
