Weiner's Resignation OfficialWeiner’s Resignation Official, Congressman Anthony Weiner last day in Congress will be Tuesday, has told the home authorities in New York. “I hereby resign as member of the House of Representatives in the ninth ward of New York is effective at midnight Tuesday, June 21, 2011,” he wrote in a letter dated Monday. “It was an honor to serve the people of Queens and Brooklyn.”

Weiner output can not come soon enough for House Democrats, who called for the resignation of Weiner after he admitted married congressman Twitter messages and explicit photographs of himself and six women. Weiner announced Thursday he would resign after 13 years in office.

His congressional staff reports to the secretary of the House until a representative of the new President. Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, may call a special election at any time in the coming weeks.

House of Representatives John Boehner and Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi did not comment on the letter. Expected to be read in the full House on Tuesday, leading officials said.

The two-sentence letter ended a family saga at the Capitol – the infidelity of a married congressman – plays on the relatively new medium and powerful Twitter.

Weiner first insisted that his Twitter account has been hacked. But then acknowledged that he had sent pictures and messages of himself and six women, and that he had lied to his wife, his colleagues and the public. In the midst of his adventures: a former p**n actress.

However, Wiener refused to resign until Democrats, Pelosi from below, lost patience with the distraction and urged him to leave.
