Wear Purple October 20

Wear Purple October 20, This just a week after fellow Texan, Councillor Joel Burns for Fort Worth, spoke about the harassment he suffered because he was gay.
Jon Langbert, the father of triplets, said in turn the T-shirt Boy Scout group her son had given her to wear during fundraising popcorn sales. The shirt was identified as a member of the management team.
Langbert was open with his son’s Cub Scout troop about his sexuality and the leadership of the company assured him he was not a problem. Following the fund raising corn, however, some fathers have complained. These complaints were sent to the chain of command and, finally, he was stripped of his leadership role.
Pat Currie, a leader in the Circle Ten Council, reminded reporters that the BSA has a longstanding policy of banning gays and atheists from serving in leadership roles. Currie said Langbert is welcome to continue volunteering, but not as a leader. Incidentally, this was not a problem if Langbert troops would not have said that her son is gay.
Do not ask, do not tell, do not sell popcorn, and do not evolve.
Langbert will not accept second-class status in the separate but equal compromise of the troupe. And you know what? His son did not. It will not stay with an organization that would not have his father as a member. What about the rest of you Scouts? Will you?
