Waltons Reunion 2011

December 3, 2011 by staff

Waltons Reunion 2011, The cast of “The Waltons,” the uber-wholesome big family TV drama, gathered on the “Today” show Friday because, you know, why not?

It’s actually been 40 years since the TV movie that inspired the show premiered, and a large part of the original cast is gathering in New Jersey tonight for a screening.

Eight of the original cast members, including Michael Learned (Ma) and Richard Thomas (John-Boy), talked with Matt Lauer about how much they enjoyed working with each other.

Learned also addressed criticisms that the show is too sweet — “Toward the beginning we were dealing … some real issues, as well as the warmth of the family.” —, and Thomas revealed that he doesn’t mind being told “Goodnight, John-Boy” after all these years. So make sure to yell it at him should your paths cross.
