Wallow Fire Arizona, The fire forced to roll the Arizona Department of Transportation to close a highway in eastern Arizona. U.S. 191 is closed between the Alps and Camp Strayhorse (markers 220-253). Alpine is about 25 miles south of Eager, on the east side of Arizona. The fire began to roll a few days ago and burned about 12 miles southwest of Alpine. Bob Dyson, a spokesman for the fire information, talked to 3TV on “Good Morning!” Arizona “on the fire Revolcadero. He said firefighters are warning the area of?? Dense smoke, which could cause visibility problems for drivers. Furthermore, due to fire behavior and current conditions, Dyson said it was safer to keep the public out and away from Highway 191. There is a lot faster alternative route around the closure of Highway 191. However, drivers may use Highway 180 to the north and south.
The fire has forced additional rolling road closures, including sections of state routes 261 and 273 of the main access roads to the Big Lake and Crescent Lake in the White Mountains. ADOT is working with the firefighters to ensure passenger safety.
S.R. 261 is closed from seven miles south of SR 260 to Crescent Lake (markers 394-405) and S.R. 273 is closed from Sunrise Park, Big Lake (markers 390-397). There is no estimated time for reopening of roads, according to ADOT.
