Waived West Twitter

October 31, 2012 by staff

Waived West Twitter, Former Dallas Mavericks guard Delonte West wants a new job. And he’s posted a résumé of sorts on Twitter in hopes of getting one.

West, who was suspended indefinitely and then waived by Dallas earlier this week, used Twitter on Wednesday to list his experience and abilities. He noted that he would play for a non-guaranteed, league-minimum deal because, as he tweeted, “by the time I get there u see what I’m about&what I bring everyday.”

West, clearly having fun with his job search, tweeted that he’s not “comin to yr team riddin a motorcycle,” a reference to the reason he was suspended for the first 10 games of the 2010-11 season. West was arrested in September 2009 for carrying three loaded guns and a knife on his motorcycle when he was stopped for speeding. He pleaded guilty to weapons charges in July 2010 and was sentenced to eight months of electronic monitoring, two years of unsupervised probation, 40 hours of community service and psychological counseling.

West, 29, was waived Monday by the Mavericks because they were concerned he wasn’t a good influence on the younger players on the roster, sources told ESPNDallas.com’s Tim MacMahon. The roster move allowed Dallas to make room for center Eddy Curry.

West signed a one-year deal with Dallas during the summer for the veteran’s minimum ($1.2 million) after averaging 9.6 points and 3.2 assists as a role player last season. He also provided solid defense and gave the club some good energy playing either guard spot.
