VIRILITY MAX RECALL, Barry’s Vitamins and Herbs in Boca Raton is recalling one lot of the male enhancement supplement Virility Max that it sold in South Florida, because the supplement contains a prescription drug.

The product contains a version of sildenafil, the active ingredient in erectile dysfunction drugs, which makes Virility Max an unapproved prescription drug, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said. Other male potency supplements have been recalled for the same reason. Sildenafil can lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.

Keime Inc., the corporation that owns Barry’s, said in its recall notice that it bought the product from another company and did not manufacture it. President Barry Nevins could not be reached for comment Monday. A company employee who declined to give his name referred calls to the FDA.

The recalled supplement carries lot number 10090571. Consumers who bought the product, sold in white plastic bottles of 10 pills, can return it for a refund. For more information, call Barry’s at 561-368-2070.
