Vinny Verrato:Vinny Cerrato is out as vice president of football operations of the struggling Washington Redskins.
The Redskins say Cerrato quit his post this morning.
Cerrato has been the right-hand man to owner Dan Snyder for nearly all of Snyder’s 10 years as owner of the Redskins.
This year’s Redskins are 4-9 and have struggled in part because of a lack of depth along the offensive line.

Cerrato says he met with Snyder and that the two “agreed that the franchise needs someone different in this position.”

Cerrato has served two stints with the team, and assumed the title of executive vice president of a football operations on Jan. 22, 2008.
