Venus Williams French Open Outfit, World No. 3 Venus Williams survived a difficult exit in the fourth round U.S. Open match against Shahar Peer Sunday eventually push its way to the quarterfinals with a 7-6 6-3 victory.

Although her dress gleamed red tennis – which she has invented his “New York held fireworks” – sparkled, Williams was low on Arthur Ashe court against an opponent she had beaten five times previously, converting only five of 13 break points.

Williams – watched three times U.S. Open champion and her younger sister Serena – has not played one tournament between Wimbledon and U.S. Open this year because of sore knees.

“I’ll still play my best match,” the former champion said before entering the court. “Not really thinking about the leg, thinking about tennis.”

The last American woman left in the draw, Williams was also the last woman to win titles back-to-back during a tournament in New York, claiming the trophy in 2000 and 2001.

Williams will face fifth-seeded and French Open champion Francesca Schiavone in the quarterfinal clash with a potential semi-final against defending champion Kim Clijsters.
