Vancouver Riot Posters

Vancouver Riot Posters, Stanley Cup rioters are coming to a poster near you. Public response to a new riot round-up poster released Wednesday has been overwhelming, said Vancouver police. Volunteer distributors reported being approached by people believing they recognized someone in the poster, and by local employees grabbing stacks for their staff.
Wednesday morning, police with 150 volunteers started plastering posters with the faces of 104 people they’d like the public’s help in identifying as having roles in June’s riot.
“The 35,000 posters our army of volunteers have been handing out have already had a major impact,” Sgt. Howard Chow said late Wednesday afternoon. “We’ve been receiving tips all afternoon.”
After unveiling the poster in the rain outside the downtown London Drugs that was damaged during the riot, police chief Jim Chu personally handed posters to passersby.
The posters will be distributed at colleges, universities, high schools, high-traffic areas, transportation hubs and outside businesses victimized on June 15.
The police force made the posters after successfully posting the faces of possible rioters online at riot2011.vpd.ca, that helped identify alleged 57 rioters.
Hundreds of people were likely involved in the riots, but only 60 are so far charged.
“There will be another wave within the next couple of weeks,” said Insp. Les Yeo, who heads the riot investigation.
