There will be no retail window service at any United States Postal Service station or branch.
Customers using a debit card or credit may use the automated postal centers found throughout the district of Greater Indiana. They are available 24 hours a day, every day of the week, including holidays and can perform 80% of transactions available at postal retail outlets such as broadcast packets and postage purchase.
Mail delivery will resume Tuesday, January 18, 2011.
U.S. Postal Service has today officially unveiled images of its program of commemorative stamps. Among this year’s winners are former President Ronald Reagan, the legendary author Mark Twain, the award-winning actor and actress Helen Hayes and Gregory Peck, and Latin music giants Selena, Carlos Gardel, Carmen Miranda, Tito Puente and Celia Cruz.
In addition, the former congresswoman Barbara Jordan of Texas is the winner of the 2011 Black Heritage stamp. Stamps will be issued to observe the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, the 50th anniversary of America’s first manned flight and a celebration of Disney Pixar characters: Lightning McQueen and Mater from cars; Remy the rat and Linguini Ratatouille Buzz Light year and two green, three-eyed aliens from Toy Story, Carl Fredricksen and Dug Up, and the robot WALL * E * E Wall Send stamps Hello.
New designs of stamps will be issued several series, including Purple Heart, wedding and holiday stamps in 2011.
Lunar New Year: Year of the Rabbit stamp, to be published Jan. 22, will be a Forever stamp for use in sending a letter 1-ounce. Regardless of when the stamps are purchased or used in the New Year, whatever the price may change in future, these stamps will always be equal to the price of First-Class Mail 1 ounce.
Since the first Forever stamp, with the Liberty Bell, was published in April 2007, 28 billion Forever Stamps have been sold, leading to 12.1 billion in total revenue. Now that the postal service offers coils, brochures and vacation Forever Stamps, nearly 85 percent of its program of Forever stamps.
