USPS Broke, WHAT: The U.S. Postal Service lost about 9000 million and this year because of falling mail volume, but during the first six months of 2011 paid workers and 4.3 million idle 170,666 hours of “timeout.”
WHY: arrangements for a long time working with major postal unions prohibit the Postal Service for dismissal or reassignment of workers because of broken equipment or periods of low mail volume.
What is being done: The USPS will start more difficult to monitor and control payments expected next month. Meanwhile, the expected annual costs and plummeted from 30.9 million in the last two years.
