Us Open Tee Times, Rory McIlroy has a lead of six shots ahead of the third round of U.S. Open Congressional Country Club in 2011 he established a record score of 36 holes. McIlroy carded rounds of 65 and 66 to reach 11 under par through two rounds, and is the first player in U.S. Open history to reach double digits under par through 36 holes.
He leads by six shots YE Yang, and is nine ahead of the next closest competitors. McIlroy finished his second round early in the afternoon, and as such will have a long wait between the second and third round. It will not tee off until 15:50 ET on Saturday with Yang, a wait of almost 27 hours from the game.
It’s something the players are treated differently, as many would like to get to the golf course early, waiting in the place the night often leads to sleepless nights.
This departure time is also two hours later than normal. Usually finished in 18:00 is the goal when the U.S. Open played in the Eastern Time zone, but this will end around 20:00 ET.
