UK Store Sells Out Of Reindeer Pate

UK Store Sells Out Of Reindeer Pate, Every year some store, somewhere across the globe has an item that becomes a sensation during the holiday season.
This year one of those items is â–¬ reindeer pate?
The delicacy, made from bonafide Swedish reindeer, is what one store’s hot ticket item was this Christmas 2011.
Fury erupted from a vegetarian group after Harvey Nichols, a store located in the UK, began selling reindeer pate, right before the Christmas holiday. Yet, despite what might be considered to be a product made in bad taste at this time of the year, the product, manufactured by a west London company called Edible, has sold out for the festive season.
The product was advertised as “Delicious served on hot buttered toast with a glass of brandy!” and priced at ?£15 for 190 grams (about $23 US for 6.7 ounces).
Ingredients for the ‘delicacy’ include ground meat, fat, cognac, and spices. The package design of the reindeer pate perhaps was written to provoke. Claims on the label state “arctic delicacy,” “farm raised relative of Rudolph,” and “indulgent winter treat!”
Despite the images of Santa’s popular reindeer on a plate that are conjured up when reading the product’s label, this product has been a popular seller. MSNBC reported the item is listed as ‘unavailable’ on Amazon.com and Edible. The product is also gone from Harvey Nichols’ shelves as well.
