Twitter & Promoted Tweets?, Twitter is the introduction of advertisements on the live broadcast of messages, according to the Financial Times. The addition of “tweets promoted” – a euphemism for advertising – in the live Twitter is bound to frustrate many users at once, because it attracts companies seeking to reach some 300 million users of the company.
Twitter executives have been meeting with strategists in the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in France International this week to find a way to ramp revenues disproportionately to track social media companies such as Facebook.
Twitter is expected to generate revenues of close to 100 million this year. Facebook, by contrast, crop and 3.5 million dollars display advertising, according to a forecast of Enders Analysis.
Some other ideas are filtered out of these meetings. One was that Twitter could offer mass coupon offers, which have a potential due to the nature of interacting in real time on Twitter. A profile of the brand, allowing advertisers to pre-schedule tweets in your company, is also being considered.
Twitter currently offers promoted trends and promotes user profiles. The company also promoted tweets displayed when users search for related terms. This is similar to how Google AdWords work – and as Google AdWords, sponsored tweets are clearly separated from the content is not promoted. The introduction of sponsored content directly into the live stream of tweets has never been attempted before.
How the new ad pricing options depends largely on the Twitter community itself. The company had to withdraw the ad shows “Shortcut” from your application for the iPhone earlier this year when users will be denied.
But as we have seen with other social networks like Facebook, a certain amount of advertising will be tolerated – and click on it – the digital community.
If tweets sponsored deal with the inevitable backlash, the opportunities for small businesses to get directly into the stream of a user of Twitter is incredibly powerful. This is partly due to real-time nature of the platform, and partly because the format for the exchange of small portions of bites of information lends itself well to advertising.
If commercialization of Twitter can be drawn correctly, could launch the company in the step of online marketing leaders such as Facebook and Google in its importance to small business owners.
