The school, where Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson filmed scenes from vampire movies success is one of the few places in the quiet town visited by the devotees of the franchise. The facade was demolished earlier this month (Jun11) and heads to make way for the construction of a new school. A popular spot for “Twilight” to have their pictures taken in Forks, Washington has been knocked down. The facade of the Forks High School was demolished in June to make way for a new school.

According to the Daily News Peninsula, an awareness campaign and 287,000 to save the facade of 86 years old came up short – an increase of only a few thousand dollars.

Fans of the teen-vampire romance books and movies frequently visited the site.

A cornerstone of terracotta and lintel reading “Quillayute School High” will remain in the new school.

Many thought that there was a time capsule in the cornerstone of age. All they found was a very poor copy of a weekly newspaper in 1925.
