Turducken, Jack White has created Vinyl turducken. For the launch of “Blue Blood Blues,” the new single from the band The Dead Weather, rock demigod Triple Decker invented the registry – a 7-inch disc that comes in a 12-inch.

White shows the technology in the infomercial aspect vintage built above. Look how he plays the 12-inch, then use a Swiss Army knife to open it, remove the 7 inches and is preparing to play an unpublished mystery track. Complicated, yes, but is just one of many mind games Third Man Records likes to play, “said White, founder of the label.

Third Man Records – one-stop label, record store and production house – operates under the slogan: “Your player is not dead.” The company has devised several ways to strengthen vinyl records including glow in the darkness and a peach-scented Karen Elson LP.

Fight for your Registry Triple Decker on Friday – just 300 are available through mail order and in select record stores (including Third Man Records shop in Nashville).
